Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the
liquid in Canned Salmon?
A. Canned Salmon is cooked in the can and the liquid present in the
final product is only the natural juices that come out of the meat as
the salmon is cooked. The amount of the liquid present in any given
can of salmon is principally a function of the sexual maturity of the
fish at the time of catch. There is no water added to the traditional
(skin and bone in) Canned Salmon. Do not throw out the Canned Salmon
liquid - it is very nutritional and many recipes call for inclusion
of this liquid.
Skinless Boneless Salmon however, loses some of the natural juices of
the salmon when the skin and bone is removed. For this Skinless Boneless
pack only, water is added to the pack.
